Paula and I were thrilled to learn that a total of six of our prints have been accepted for inclusion in three juried exhibitions for January – Valdosta National 2010, Midwest Seasons, and The Ann Metzger Memorial National All Media Exhibit.

“Tim” was accepted for the Valdosta National 2010 by juror Dennis Applebee.  The exhibition is held in the Fine Arts Gallery at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA and runs from 1/19/10 to 2/5/10.  We wish we could be there for the opening reception on Tuesday, January 19, but other commitments preclude us from heading south.  We’re looking forward to receiving the exhibition catalog.

“We Could Live in a Cabin in the Woods” and “Thermocline” were accepted for Midwest Seasons.  Midwest Seasons is an annual juried exhibition that showcases entries from American and occasionally international artists and celebrates the beauty and power of the Midwest Seasons.  It’s held at the Center for the Visual Arts (CVA) in Wausau, WI and runs from 1/24/10 to 2/28/10.  This year’s juror was Daniel Atyim.  I had a piece selected for last year’s show, so we know that CVA has a beautiful, well-run gallery space in downtown Wausau.  We hope the weather cooperates so we can attend the opening reception on Friday, January 22.

“Thermocline,” “Dismembered Lakes,” and “Winter Lake Day” were accepted for The Ann Metzger Memorial National All Media Exhibit.  The St. Louis Artist’s Guild, a nationally known arts center, mounts this annual exhibition at its beautiful 1920’s mansion in the heart of Oak Knoll Park in Clayton, MO, a suburb of St. Louis.  This year’s show runs from 1/24/10 to 3/19/10 and was juried by Sabina Ott.  We have good friends in St. Louis, so we’re hoping to combine a quick visit with the reception on Sunday, January 24.
