Hard to believe 2012 has passed into history. We spent a very busy year moving our home & studio from Madison to Door County, WI. I’ve posted our sporadic updates from last year here on our blog.
While we miss many things about Madison, it is so wonderful being up here for our first full winter. We’re finding plenty to do — including hiking at various state parks and conservancy lands — often through a winter wonderland. The snow comes and then goes, but the winter beauty remains! Here’s a photo I took at the Ridges Sanctuary.
I’m looking forward to Groundhog’s Day on Saturday (February 2 already!). We’re planning to start the day off at the Great Waffle Breakfast at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall. This annual event is a fundraiser for the Ridges and also celebrates the birth date of Emma Toft, one of the organization’s founding visionaries. In fact, we might head over to Toft Point State Natural Area for a hike after breakfast. Earlier this fall, we hiked in and were lucky enough to see the harvest moon rise over the aptly named Moonlight Bay.
Also looking forward to March and catching a show that blends the talents of the Grace Chosy Gallery artists (including Dave) included in 100 Artists of the Midwest book published last summer.
See Grace Chosy Gallery for more information.
